You are right in what you say, but you can supercharge an LS7. GM didn't want to do it because there is a possibility of failure, and they didn't want that to be an issue. However, there are many Corvette specialty shops, like Mallett Cars in Berea, Ohio, that supercharge and warranty LS7's every day that push over 850 horsepower.
