Inifiniti definitley does have more character, back then and even today. Back then though, they weren't terribly attractive and I think that's why they never gained quite the foothold on the luxury market like Lexus did. I think Infiniti has learned over the years though. Now they are making some very attractive cars, like the G37, one of my faves! I also like the odd but cool looking M45. You don't see many of them around and they definitely stand out in a crowd.

I mirror you comments on the 'pretentious-ness' of the Lex'. I also for some reason am turned off by their lack of character, read pursuit of perfection, leaves no quirks. Is that wrong? hahaha

I'm not a huge fan of lexus because I find them overly pretentious, but I do think the LS400 is a better looking car inside and out. It also looks higher quality inside, and is better on gas. This Q45 is downright homely looking and the interior looks very cheap.

Probably because the Q45 had unwieldy styling, and Nissan seemed to have limited knowledge of how to conceptualize a luxury sedan. . .

infinity has always had power

Oh, ok. I thought, the guy mentioned, it always starts of in 2nd. gear, no matter what, u kno'?! As for my car..., it's seems like the trans. is ok. Dosen't skip, knock or, anything. Takes off like a dream...but, could be a little faster, though! ;-)

if you mash on it it's supposed to change into first gear which is fast... check that it is going into first...

It definitely feels like it. When I mash on it from a dig..., it's kinda' sluggish 'til, it get's to 40mph. Anything after that is LEATHAL! Lol.. ;-)

yeah and second gear is geared very high so it's the equivalent of starting off in 3rd or 4th gear in a stick shift

Wow..., nice video about the Infinity Q45! I still have my '92 Infinity Q45 and, it runs just like, it's brand new, with 162,000+ miles on it! I always wondered why, it was kind of sluggish on takeoff. Now I know...that's 'cause, it starts off in 2nd. gear! Kinda weird...but, I can live with it. It's still a very nice vehicle!

Thank you so much for posting this!! 1990 Infiniti Q45 is sooo much better than the LS400 though. I cannot believe people actually preferred the 400 to the 45.
