I'd rather have a few scratches and bruises in my old disco, than walk away from an accident knowing I'd been a complete twat and bought a Renault Espace! There is no true comparison with these two vehicles. One is of older design I used by normal folk, the other is a french pile of shite and used by puffs lol

Who other than a rich son of a bitch can afford a brand new espace over an old disco, as someone already said get an espace the same age as the disco and try it. I would like to see an espace get through 6ft of water when a village gets flooded or get through a mud pit in a field if you accidently lose control and skid through a fence. (These things happen alot near where I live!)

im not quite sure what this test is meant to show, it is flawed if it is showing how bad the disco is compared to the espace. they have taken an old disco and matched it against a brand new top of the range vehicle,

Try the same thing with a 2008 Clio vs. 1990 Discovery 1. Or the Discovery 3 vs. the new Espace. The Discovery has a real chassis. And the MPV isn't really a small car and much 17 years newer design. Take the old Espace of the same year as the Disco, let's see what happened then.

That's the same thing I experience with my 300tdi :), only every 2 or 3 years, depending on the quality of the battery it won't start, but replacing the battery solves it.

The espace is a nice, good looking car. Renault totaly wrecked the cliché of dull minivans with it.

Ha ha ha! My Disco is a 1996 model 300 series and it only fails to start about once every 5 years when the battery finally gives up the ghost. Some people have no idea...

the landrover would not be involved in a crash because it probably wouldnt start in the first place. A crude piece of engineering. I wouldnt own the french litter either.

No only that, this is an EXTREMELY old SUV! How can you compare vehicles much diffrent in age. Also, I didn't see an engine block in either cars. The engine was PART of the structural integrity of older vehicles. They weren't independent from structure like newer vehicles. If there's no engine blocks, the newer vehicle will do better, and the old one will have no structural integrity. Also, this "soft area" of the SUV should house a V-8 engine block (steel; not soft)! It obviously wasn't there.

very biased!i have a 06 pajero warrior and this would not be the case as i got rear ended by a 02 laguna.the damage?i had a broken tail light and had to replace the bumper the laguna got written off!4*4 all the way
